ALEXANDRIA, Va., Aug. 20 -- United States Patent no. 12,389,843, issued on Aug. 19, was assigned to Stingray Watering System LLC (Calabasas, Calif.).

"Plant irrigation device" was invented by Lance James Lortscher (Hidden Hills, Calif.) and Mark Alan Christl (Simi Valley, Calif.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A plant irrigation device includes a support that surrounds a plant and provides an opening through which the plant extends. A drip tube is attached to the support and connectable to a water source. The drip tube has a series of spaced apart apertures or water emitters along a length thereof permitting water to exit the drip tube and into the ground surrounding the plant."
