US Patent Issued to Stant USA on April 22 for "Carbon canister with direct connect fuel tank isolation valve" (Indiana Inventors)

ALEXANDRIA, Va., June 6 -- United States Patent no. 12,280,656, issued on April 22, was assigned to Stant USA Corp. (Connersville, Ind.).

"Carbon canister with direct connect fuel tank isolation valve" was invented by John C. Long (Connersville, Ind.) and George J. Mitri (Connersville, Ind.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A fuel tank vent valve includes a venting apparatus for regulating discharge of fuel vapor from a fuel tank and admission of outside air into a fuel tank. The vent valve is used to regulate pressure in a fuel tank."

The patent was filed on Oct. 18, 2022, under Application No. 17/968,434.
