ALEXANDRIA, Va., June 9 -- United States Patent no. 12,289,576, issued on April 29, was assigned to ST TipTech LLC (Delray Beach, Fla.).

"Expandable sealing devices and methods" was invented by John P. Keady (Fairfax Station, Va.) and Steven W. Goldstein (Delray Beach, Fla.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "An insertion device includes a stent and a plurality of sealing elements where each sealing element is operatively rotationally attached to the stent."

The patent was filed on Feb. 11, 2022, under Application No. 17/670,130.
