ALEXANDRIA, Va., July 16 -- United States Patent no. 12,357,679, issued on July 15, was assigned to Spectral Platforms Inc. (Monrovia, Calif.).
"Albumin-based non-covalent complexes and methods of use thereof" was invented by Ravi Verma (Monrovia, Calif.) and Changjun Yu (Pasadena, Calif.).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A non-covalent complex of an albumin molecule and a hydrophobic ligand, compositions containing the same, and methods of use thereof are provided. The present complex may find use in delivering the hydrophobic ligand to microorganisms that have albumin-binding outer surfaces, such as a cell wall."
