ALEXANDRIA, Va., June 17 -- United States Patent no. 12,315,172, issued on May 27, was assigned to Sony Interactive Entertainment Inc. (Tokyo).

"Information processing apparatus, system, information processing method, and information processing program" was invented by Naoyuki Miyada (Tokyo), Hideki Yanagisawa (Kanagawa, Japan), Mamiko Ishida (Tokyo), Masayoshi Mizuno (Tokyo), Naoki Egawa (Kanagawa, Japan) and Hiromasa Naganuma (Chiba, Japan).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "In combination, a detection section detects a target based on a first image signal from a first image sensor, a setting section sets an area of interest in which at least part of the target is included, a calculation section...
