ALEXANDRIA, Va., Aug. 20 -- United States Patent no. 12,395,871, issued on Aug. 19, was assigned to Sony Group Corp. (Tokyo).

"Beam management for frequency division duplex operation" was invented by Jose Flordelis (Lund, Sweden), Fredrik Rusek (Eslov, Sweden), Olof Zander (Sodra Sandby, Sweden), Kun Zhao (Malmo, Sweden) and Erik Bengtsson (Eslov, Sweden).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A method of operating a wireless communication device (102) configured to communicate with a communications network (100) using frequency duplex transmission in an uplink frequency band (601) and in a downlink frequency band (602) is provided. The method includes monitoring for first downlink reference signals (...
