ALEXANDRIA, Va., July 16 -- United States Patent no. 12,361,597, issued on July 15, was assigned to SONY GROUP Corp. (Tokyo) and SONY CORPORATION OF AMERICA (New York).

"Task-oriented dynamic mesh compression using occupancy networks" was invented by Alexandre Zaghetto (San Jose, Calif.), Danillo Graziosi (Flagstaff, Ariz.) and Ali Tabatabai (Cupertino, Calif.).
