ALEXANDRIA, Va., Nov. 11 -- United States Patent no. 12,466,630, issued on Nov. 11, was assigned to SONOCO DEVELOPMENT INC. (Hartsville, S.C.).
"Fiber-based separator for compartmentalized composite can" was invented by Michael L. Thornton (Fort Mill, S.C.) and R. Michael Schock (Hartsville, S.C.).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A paper fiber-based partition or divider for use in dividing or separating products in a container that house different products is provided. A separate product container for housing one of the products may be utilized."
The patent was filed on Oct. 20, 2014, under Application No. 14/518,275.
