ALEXANDRIA, Va., June 4 -- United States Patent no. 12,319,764, issued on June 3, was assigned to SOLVAY SPECIALTY POLYMERS ITALY S.P.A. (Bollate, Italy).

"Flexible PVDF polymers" was invented by Segolene Brusseau (Tavaux, France), Julio A. Abusleme (Saronno, Italy) and Giambattista Besana (Mariano Comense, Italy).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "The present invention pertains to vinylidene fluoride copolymers having improved flexibility, said copolymers comprising recurring units derived from hydrophilic (meth)acrylic monomers and from perhalogenated monomers, to a process for the manufacture of said copolymers, and to their use in applications where outstanding flexibility is required."
