ALEXANDRIA, Va., June 10 -- United States Patent no. 12,293,882, issued on May 6, was assigned to Snap One LLC (Salt Lake City).
"Molded buttons" was invented by Matthew Thomas Palmer (Sandy, Utah).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Examples of molded buttons are described. In some examples, a button includes a transparent molded member. The button includes an opaque molded member attached to the transparent molded member. The opaque molded member includes a shield positioned along an edge of the transparent molded member. The shield is disposed to reduce backlight from exiting at the edge of the transparent molded member."
