ALEXANDRIA, Va., Dec. 23 -- United States Patent no. 12,504,243, issued on Dec. 23, was assigned to SMITH & WESSON INC. (Maryville, Tenn.).
"Magazine well assembly" was invented by Simon M. Muska (Enfield, Conn.) and Brady Hoddinott (New Hartford, Conn.).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A magazine well assembly for connecting a magazine to a firearm. The magazine well assembly has a housing defining a magazine receiving space. The magazine receiving space is adapted to receive the magazine. At least one first connector is configured to removably couple the housing to a lower receiver of the firearm."
