ALEXANDRIA, Va., June 17 -- United States Patent no. 12,312,595, issued on May 27, was assigned to Slingshot Biosciences Inc. (Emeryville, Calif.).

"Hydrogel particles as feeder cells and as synthetic antigen presenting cells" was invented by Anh Tuan Nguyen (San Francisco), Jeffrey Kim (Berkeley, Calif.), Keunho Ahn (Pleasanton, Calif.) and Daixuan Zhang (Fremont, Calif.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "The present disclosure provides feeder hydrogel particles that can function to support the growth, proliferation, and/or activation of a target cell in culture. The present disclosure also provides methods of culturing target cells with feeder hydrogel particles."
