US Patent Issued to Sleep Number on Sept. 16 for "Mattress with stacked air chambers" (Minnesota Inventors)

ALEXANDRIA, Va., Sept. 17 -- United States Patent no. 12,414,638, issued on Sept. 16, was assigned to Sleep Number Corp. (Minneapolis).

"Mattress with stacked air chambers" was invented by Kody Lee Karschnik (Plymouth, Minn.) and Saurabh Chhaparwal (Plymouth, Minn.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Disclosed are beds having stackable air chambers. A mattress can include a first air chamber, a second air chamber stacked beneath the first air chamber and fluidly connected to the first air chamber, and a support stacked beneath the first air chamber and positioned between the second air chamber and a foot end of the mattress.
