US Patent Issued to Sleep Number on June 24 for "Mattress covering" (Minnesota Inventors)

ALEXANDRIA, Va., June 25 -- United States Patent no. 12,336,635, issued on June 24, was assigned to Sleep Number Corp. (Minneapolis).

"Mattress covering" was invented by Natalie Negus (Minneapolis) and Antony Kirk (Minnetonka, Minn.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A bed has a mattress with a mattress top, a mattress bottom, and a mattress perimeter. The mattress includes a mattress cover surrounding the mattress. The mattress cover includes a first stretch fabric around the mattress perimeter of the mattress.
