ALEXANDRIA, Va., June 16 -- United States Patent no. 12,308,341, issued on May 20, was assigned to Skyworks Solutions Inc. (Irvine, Calif.).
"Wire bond capillary design" was invented by Miguel Camargo Soto (Mexicali, Mexico).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A capillary for performing ball bonding includes a body defining a lumen, a first blade defined in a lower tip of the body, and a second blade defined in the lower tip of the body for increasing reliability of a ball bonding procedure performed using the capillary."
The patent was filed on Oct. 8, 2020, under Application No. 17/066,153.
