ALEXANDRIA, Va., July 30 -- United States Patent no. 12,369,723, issued on July 29, was assigned to SKYDEX TECHNOLOGIES INC. (Centennial, Colo.).

"Tiered void cells" was invented by Jerod Dahl (Denver) and Peter M. Foley (Castle Rock, Colo.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "The disclosed technology includes tiered void cells which provide protection, comfort, and stability during compression.
