ALEXANDRIA, Va., Jan. 13 -- United States Patent no. 12,522,410, issued on Jan. 13, was assigned to Silgan Dispensing Systems Slatersville LLC (Slatersville, R.I.).

"Self-venting closure" was invented by James E. Scotton (Foxborough, Mass.) and Patrick J. Brannon (Warwick, R.I.).
