ALEXANDRIA, Va., June 25 -- United States Patent no. 12,338,178, issued on June 24, was assigned to SIKA TECHNOLOGY AG (Baar, Switzerland).
"Noise reducing mortar composition" was invented by Luigi Perrino (Nago Torbole, Italy), Tiziano Rattighieri (Modena, Italy), Alberto Borghi (Campogalliano, Italy) and Luz Granizo (Madrid).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A mortar composition, in particular a leveling mortar composition, including: a) 10-50 wt. % of a hydraulic binder, b) 10-25 wt. % of lightweight aggregates, c) 30-50 wt. % of further aggregates which have a particle density that is higher than the particle density of the lightweight aggregates, d) 0.5-5 wt. % of a polymer."
