ALEXANDRIA, Va., Feb. 11 -- United States Patent no. 12,545,905, issued on Feb. 10, was assigned to Siemens Healthcare Diagnostics Inc. (Tarrytown, N.Y.).
"Compositions and methods for nucleic acid capture by chemical bait" was invented by Hannah Pezzi (Emeryville, Calif.).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A bait is provided, wherein the bait comprises a first portion capable of binding to a nucleic acid in a sequence-independent manner, and a second portion capable of binding to a non-silica capture substrate. Compositions comprising such a bait and methods for using such a bait are also disclosed."
