US Patent Issued to SHINE Technologies on June 24 for "Ion source and neutron generator" (Wisconsin Inventors)

ALEXANDRIA, Va., June 25 -- United States Patent no. 12,342,447, issued on June 24, was assigned to SHINE Technologies LLC (Janesville, Wis.).

"Ion source and neutron generator" was invented by Gregory Piefer (Janesville, Wis.) and Richard Sisson (Janesville, Wis.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A nuclear reaction generator includes a chamber configured to contain a gas and including a target. The nuclear reaction generator also includes a filament provided inside the chamber and a voltage source configured to apply a first positive voltage to the filament relative to the chamber.
