US Patent Issued to SHIN-ETSU CHEMICAL on June 24 for "Yttrium-based sprayed coating and making method" (Japanese Inventors)

ALEXANDRIA, Va., June 25 -- United States Patent no. 12,338,535, issued on June 24, was assigned to SHIN-ETSU CHEMICAL Co. LTD. (Tokyo).

"Yttrium-based sprayed coating and making method" was invented by Yasushi Takai (Tokyo) and Noriaki Hamaya (Echizen, Japan).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "An yttrium-base sprayed coating is obtained by thermally spraying yttrium oxide, yttrium fluoride or yttrium oxyfluoride onto a substrate to form a coating of 10-500 micro metre thick, and chemically cleaning the coating with a cleaning liquid of organic acid, inorganic acid or a mixture thereof until the population of particles with a size of up to 300 nm becomes no more than 5 particles/mm2 of the coating...
