ALEXANDRIA, Va., July 23 -- United States Patent no. 12,364,374, issued on July 22, was assigned to SharkNinja Operating LLC (Needham, Mass.).

"Surface cleaning device with odor control" was invented by Philippa J. Copeland (Hayling Island, Great Britain), Jemima L. C. Meil (Lancaster, Great Britain), Hugh J. Croggon (Newbury, Great Britain) and Oliver G. Holmes (London).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A surface cleaning device may include a nozzle, a dust cup, a suction motor configured to draw air into the nozzle and through the dust cup, and a first deodorizer coupled to the nozzle, the first deodorizer includes a deodorizing composition having a long chain fatty acid."
