ALEXANDRIA, Va., Sept. 17 -- United States Patent no. 12,415,569, issued on Sept. 16, was assigned to Shape Corp. (Grand Haven, Mich.).

"Rocker insert with corrugated structure" was invented by Matthew Kuipers (Holland, Mich.), Zehua Qin (Norton Shores, Mich.), Marcus Ashmore (Farmington Hills, Mich.) and Bruce Walsh (West Bloomfield, Mich.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A vehicle rocker assembly may include a sill inner comprising a sill wall portion, an upper wall portion, a lower wall portion, an upper flange portion, and a lower flange portion.
