ALEXANDRIA, Va., June 17 -- United States Patent no. 12,313,788, issued on May 27, was assigned to SEYOND INC. (Sunnyvale, Calif.).
"Ultrashort pulses in LiDAR systems" was invented by Rui Zhang (Palo Alto, Calif.), Yimin Li (Cupertino, Calif.) and Junwei Bao (Los Altos, Calif.).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "LiDAR system and methods discussed herein use ultrafast light pulses. Use of ultrafast light pulses can result in reduced power consumption compared to longer length or conventional light pulses."
The patent was filed on Oct. 8, 2019, under Application No. 16/595,904.
