ALEXANDRIA, Va., Feb. 5 -- United States Patent no. 12,218,562, issued on Feb. 4, was assigned to SEW-EURODRIVE GMBH & Co. KG (Bruchsal, Germany).

"Electric motor with printed circuit board" was invented by Joachim Nikola (Kraichtal, Germany) and Martin Melzer (Karlsruhe, Germany).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "An electric motor includes a first printed circuit board having layers with conductor tracks. The layers are spaced apart from one another by first layers of insulating material, for example, fiber-reinforced plastic, e.g., an epoxy material, and an insulating layer is arranged between two of the layers."
