US Patent Issued to Sensormatic Electronics on July 1 for "Article surveillance tag attach/detach mechanism" (Florida Inventor)

ALEXANDRIA, Va., July 3 -- United States Patent no. 12,347,293, issued on July 1, was assigned to Sensormatic Electronics LLC (Boca Raton, Fla.).

"Article surveillance tag attach/detach mechanism" was invented by Mark Daniel Alexis (Wellington, Fla.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "The present disclosure relates to a mechanism inside of the tag which detaches the tag when presented to a detacher system containing a rotating magnet array that retracts the tag pin allowing the tag to be removed from the garment."
