ALEXANDRIA, Va., Jan. 13 -- United States Patent no. 12,524,640, issued on Jan. 13, was assigned to Sensormatic Electronics LLC (Boca Raton, Fla.).
"Flexible water-resistant sensor tag" was invented by Gopal Chandramowle (Boca Raton, Fla.) and David Torrecilla Puertas (Madrid).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A method for configuring a sensor tag may include providing a flexible substrate layer comprising a thin film of thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU); depositing a sensor inlay on the flexible substrate layer; and applying a protective coating over the sensor inlay encapsulating the sensor inlay between the flexible substrate layer and the protective coating."
