ALEXANDRIA, Va., June 16 -- United States Patent no. 12,304,932, issued on May 20, was assigned to SENJU PHARMACEUTICAL Co. LTD. (Osaka, Japan).

"PACAP stabilized peptide" was invented by Shinnosuke Machida (Osaka, Japan) and Takeshi Nakajima (Osaka, Japan).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "The purpose of the present invention is to provide a PACAP peptide having increased stability. The problem is solved by the discovery that substituting a carboxy group of the position 3 and/or position 8 aspartic acid in the PACAP sequence by tetrazole significantly enhances stability."

The patent was filed on Nov. 14, 2018, under Application No. 16/763,732.
