ALEXANDRIA, Va., March 26 -- United States Patent no. 12,257,858, issued on March 25, was assigned to Seiko Epson Corp. (Tokyo).
"Printed material management system that provides a printed material identifier using invisible ink" was invented by Shintaro Komuro (Matsumoto, Japan).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A printing device includes a providing unit configured to provide to a printed material an identifier for managing the printed material. The providing unit prints the identifier with invisible ink on the printed material. The identifier is visually recognizable under special light and invisible under normal light."
