ALEXANDRIA, Va., July 9 -- United States Patent no. 12,350,738, issued on July 8, was assigned to SEIKO EPSON Corp. (Tokyo).

"Method for manufacturing coated metal powder" was invented by Momo Takahashi (Chino, Japan) and Takuya Miyakawa (Matsumoto, Japan).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A method for manufacturing a coated metal powder includes: preparing a silanol solution in which a silicon-containing substance is dissolved in an alkaline aqueous solution; charging a metal powder into the silanol solution to obtain a dispersion; and forming a coating containing a silicon oxide on a particle surface of the metal powder by adding an acidic aqueous solution to the dispersion."
