ALEXANDRIA, Va., July 16 -- United States Patent no. 12,356,882, issued on July 15, was assigned to SeedX Technologies Inc. (Wilmington, Del.).

"Systems and methods for sorting of seeds" was invented by Mordekhay Shniberg (Magshimim, Israel), Elad Carmon (Petach-Tikva, Israel), Sarel Ashkenazy (Rehovot, Israel), David Gedalyaho Vaisberger (Jerusalem) and Sharon Ayal (Kibbutz Bet Nir, Israel).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A system for sorting seeds based on their resistance to a stress is disclosed. Batches of purified seeds sorted using the system are also disclosed."

The patent was filed on Sept. 15, 2022, under Application No. 17/945,149.
