ALEXANDRIA, Va., Sept. 23 -- United States Patent no. 12,419,759, issued on Sept. 23, was assigned to SeaSpine Orthopedics Corp. (Carlsbad, Calif.).

"Expandable support device and method of use" was invented by E. Skott Greenhalgh (Lower Gwynedd, Pa.) and John-Paul Romano (Chalfont, Pa.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "An implantable orthopedic support device and methods of using the device are disclosed. The device can have rigid structural components that can translate longitudinally with respect to each other, and in so doing can change the vertical height of the device.
