ALEXANDRIA, Va., Nov. 25 -- United States Patent no. 12,482,488, issued on Nov. 25, was assigned to Seagate Technology LLC (Fremont, Calif.).

"Heat-sink structure in magnetic stack, and related articles, systems, and methods" was invented by Wei-Heng Hsu (San Jose, Calif.), Pin-Wei Huang (Fremont, Calif.), YingGuo Peng (San Ramon, Calif.), Yassine Quessab (San Francisco), Yue Hu (Milpitas, Calif.), Florin Zavaliche (San Ramon, Calif.), Ganping Ju (Pleasanton, Calif.) and Daniel Staaks (Fremont, Calif.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A magnetic stack includes a magnetic recording structure and at least two heat-sink layers where heat-sink layer located furthest from the magnetic recording struc...
