ALEXANDRIA, Va., Nov. 6 -- United States Patent no. 12,460,502, issued on Nov. 4, was assigned to SCHLUMBERGER TECHNOLOGY Corp. (Sugar Land, Texas).
"Wireline dynamic sealing packer" was invented by Kody Carrillo (Sugar Land, Texas), Ian McDaniel (Sugar Land, Texas) and Taylor Mozisek (Sugar Land, Texas).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A packer includes a cylinder of elastomer including: two flat ends, a longitudinal axis, an opening formed along the longitudinal axis, the opening configured to accommodate a cable, and at least one contact pressure feature running around a circumference of the cylinder. The cylinder is split perpendicular to the flat ends into two halves."
