US Patent Issued to Saudi Arabian Oil on Sept. 23 for "Polymers and nanoparticles for flooding" (Massachusetts Inventors)

ALEXANDRIA, Va., Sept. 23 -- United States Patent no. 12,421,444, issued on Sept. 23, was assigned to Saudi Arabian Oil Co. (Dhahran, Saudi Arabia).

"Polymers and nanoparticles for flooding" was invented by S. Sherry Zhu (Waban, Mass.), Ayrat Gizzatov (Cambridge, Mass.) and Marta Antoniv (Cambridge, Mass.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A method and compounds for enhanced oil recovery (EOR) including flooding of a mixture of water and one or more of the compounds in a geological formation. The compounds have a fluoroalkyl group."
