ALEXANDRIA, Va., July 3 -- United States Patent no. 12,345,670, issued on July 1, was assigned to Saudi Arabian Oil Co. (Dhahran, Saudi Arabia).

"Hydrogel-based pH sensors and use thereof" was invented by Layan Alaeddin AlSharif (Dhahran, Saudi Arabia).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "The present disclosure relates to sensors including a dielectric layer disposed between a first electrode layer and a second electrode layer, and a sensing layer including a pH-sensitive hydrogel disposed on an outer surface of the second electrode layer."
