US Patent Issued to Saudi Arabian Oil on Jan. 20 for "Universal fishing tool and method of removing a fish from a wellbore" (Saudi Arabia Inventors)

ALEXANDRIA, Va., Jan. 20 -- United States Patent no. 12,529,278, issued on Jan. 20, was assigned to Saudi Arabian Oil Co. (Dhahran, Saudi Arabia).

"Universal fishing tool and method of removing a fish from a wellbore" was invented by Rashad I. AlMilad (Qatif, Saudi Arabia), Shaker A. BuHassan (Al-Hofuf, Saudi Arabia) and Yousef A. Mubarak (AlHulilah, Saudi Arabia).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A method of removing a fish from a wellbore comprises attaching a fishing tool to a distal end of a conveyor, the fishing tool comprising a housing and a self-solidifying material disposed within a cavity of the housing and configured to transition from a relatively soft state to a relatively hard state...
