ALEXANDRIA, Va., June 16 -- United States Patent no. 12,306,149, issued on May 20, was assigned to Sartorius Xell GMBH (SchloB Holte-Stukenbrock, Germany).

"Method for the detection and quantification of adeno-associated viruses (AAVs) using an affinity matrix" was invented by Tim Steffens (Bielefeld, Germany).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "The present invention relates to a method for the detection of the capsid titer of an adeno-associated virus (AAV) and to a method for the determination of the ratio of full and empty capsids of an AAV by the use of an affinity matrix."
