ALEXANDRIA, Va., July 30 -- United States Patent no. 12,371,457, issued on July 29, was assigned to Sartorius Albumedix Ltd. (Nottingham, Great Britain).

"Protein expression strains" was invented by Christopher John Arthur Finnis (Nottingham, Great Britain), Jennifer Mary Mclaughlan (Nottingham, Great Britain), Per Kristoffer Nordeide (Copenhagen, Denmark) and Preethi Ramaiya (Sunnyvale, Calif.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "The invention provides an improved host strain for production of desired protein."

The patent was filed on May 17, 2019, under Application No. 16/415,187.
