ALEXANDRIA, Va., Sept. 17 -- United States Patent no. 12,414,908, issued on Sept. 16, was assigned to Sano Co. Ltd. (Osaka, Japan) and Daio Paper Corp. (Ehime, Japan).

"Cosmetic" was invented by Norio Sano (Osaka, Japan), Hiroto Sasaki (Ehime, Japan), Aya Fujita (Tokyo) and Daiki Yoshihara (Tokyo).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Cosmetics that impart physical resilience and visually smooth-textured appearance to skin, by forming a non-sticky, flexible, and rupture-free makeup film on skin. The solution to the problem is a cosmetic containing cellulose nanofibers having an average fiber diameter of 10 to 1000 nm, in addition to a thickening stabilizer."
