ALEXANDRIA, Va., March 19 -- United States Patent no. 12,256,515, issued on March 18, was assigned to Sanmina Corp. (San Jose, Calif.).

"Cable management perch for use with rack rail-mounted chassis" was invented by Odie Banks Killen Jr. (Colorado Springs, Colo.) and John Albert Bauer Jr. (Colorado Springs, Colo.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "According to an aspect a perch is provided comprising a bracket configured to be attached to a rack-mount component, a bar having a width and an elongated surface, the bar having tabs configured to engage with the bracket, and an attachment screw to secure the bar to the bracket so that the bar extends horizontally across a portion of the component."
