US Patent Issued to Sandisk Technologies on Sept. 16 for "Burst awareness scheduler over host interface" (Israeli Inventors)

ALEXANDRIA, Va., Sept. 17 -- United States Patent no. 12,417,198, issued on Sept. 16, was assigned to Sandisk Technologies Inc. (Milpitas, Calif.).

"Burst awareness scheduler over host interface" was invented by Shay Benisty (Beer Sheva, Israel) and Amir Segev (Meiter, Israel).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Instead of an arbitration over the link not considering bursts, a smart scheduler in a solid state drive (SSD) host interface is burst aware. The scheduler considers the type of transactions that are going to be sent over the interface.
