ALEXANDRIA, Va., June 16 -- United States Patent no. 12,307,354, issued on May 20, was assigned to Sandisk Technologies Inc. (Milpitas, Calif.).

"Compute in memory three-dimensional non-volatile nor memory for neural networks" was invented by Yanli Zhang (San Jose, Calif.) and Yan Li (Milpitas, Calif.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A non-volatile memory device for performing compute in memory operations for a neural network uses a three dimensional NOR architecture in which vertical NOR strings are formed of multiple memory cells connected in parallel between a source line and a bit line.
