ALEXANDRIA, Va., July 16 -- United States Patent no. 12,362,362, issued on July 15, was assigned to SAMSUNG ELECTRONICS Co. LTD. (Gyeonggi-Do, South Korea).
"Positive electrode active material and electrochemical cell comprising the positive electrode active material" was invented by Valentina Lacivita (Cambridge, Mass.) and Yongwoo Shin (San Jose, Calif.).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A positive electrode active material includes a plurality of lithium nickel phosphate nanoparticles having an olivine structure and having an exposed surface that is a {111} crystal plane. The positive electrode active material can be used in a positive electrode for an electrochemical cell."
