ALEXANDRIA, Va., June 17 -- United States Patent no. 12,313,822, issued on May 27, was assigned to Samsung Electro-Mechanics Co. Ltd. (Suwon-si, South Korea).
"Optical imaging system" was invented by Il Yong Park (Suwon-si, South Korea).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "An optical imaging system includes lenses sequentially disposed from an object side toward an imaging plane. A third lens, a fourth lens, and a fifth lens of the lenses each have a negative refractive power. An F number of the optical imaging system is 1.7 or less."
The patent was filed on April 7, 2022, under Application No. 17/715,150.
