"Database object lifecycle states" was invented by David Gershuni (Carmel, Ind.), Punit B. Shah (Castro Valley, Calif.), Mikhail Lychagin (San Francisco), Rama K. Korlapati (El Segundo, Calif.) and Rui Zhang (Fremont, Calif.).

A computer system may store database schema versions for a database schema. A given schema version may have an active state or one of multiple non-active states.
