ALEXANDRIA, Va., Aug. 12 -- United States Patent no. 12,385,404, issued on Aug. 12, was assigned to SAFRAN AIRCRAFT ENGINES (Paris).
"Blade made of composite material with at least partially ceramic matrix" was invented by Lucien Henri Jacques Quennehen (Moissy-Cramayel, France) and Christophe Touchon (Moissy-Cramayel, France).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A blade made of composite material includes a fibrous reinforcement and an at least partially ceramic matrix, wherein the fibrous reinforcement includes a first structural portion formed by three-dimensional or multilayer weaving, and a second functional portion, distinct from the first portion, including short fibers."
