US Patent Issued to S.A. Lhoist Recherche et Developpment on Oct. 14 for "Lime-based sorbent for use in a flue gas treatment installation and process of manufacturing said lime-based sorbent" (Belgian Inventors)

ALEXANDRIA, Va., Oct. 21 -- United States Patent no. 12,440,820, issued on Oct. 14, was assigned to S.A. Lhoist Recherche et Developpment (Ottignies-Louvain-la-Neuve, Belgium).

"Lime-based sorbent for use in a flue gas treatment installation and process of manufacturing said lime-based sorbent" was invented by Emanuelle Ligner (Villerot, Belgium), Thierry Chopin (Brussels) and Marion Lorgouilloux (Strepy Bracquegnies, Belgium).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Lime-based sorbent suitable for use in a flue gas treatment process comprising at least 70 wt. % of Ca(OH)2 and at least 0.2 wt. % to at most 10 wt. % of a first additive selected among the group of hydrogels of natural or synthetic origin,...
