"Anti-cross-threading thread configuration" was invented by David Bytheway (Springville, Utah).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A threaded closure system includes a threaded opening and a threaded closure, where at least one thread of the threaded opening or the threaded closure has a leading portion with a steeper angle than the rest of the thread."
The patent was filed on Aug. 19, 2020, under Application No. 16/997,592.
