ALEXANDRIA, Va., Sept. 10 -- United States Patent no. 12,410,107, issued on Sept. 9, was assigned to RTX Corp. (Farmington, Conn.).
"Nanolaminate fiber interface coatings for composites" was invented by Neal Magdefrau (Tolland, Conn.) and Paul Sheedy (Bolton, Conn.).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Disclosed is a multi nanolayer interface coating for a fiber of a composite including a first interface coating nanolayer deposited onto the fiber of the ceramic matrix composite, and a second interface coating nanolayer deposited onto the first interface coating nanolayer."
The patent was filed on April 20, 2018, under Application No. 15/958,119.
